Following up her fourth album “Sweetener” Ariana Grande quickly turns around to deliver her fifth album. “Thank U, Next”, also the name of one of three singles released from the album.
Ari starts the album off with “Imagine” showing off her extreme high notes, which is something close to what Mariah Carey used to hit. Then she continues into songs like “Needy” where she talks about knowing how needy she can be, and then goes into “NASA”. In NASA she talks about about needing space and playing off of “National Aeronautics and Space Administration”.
The album goes on with more emotional songs such as “Fake Smile” and “Ghostin”. In “Ghostin”, Ariana talks about her relationship with her ex Mac Miller. Miller passed away by a drug overdose, September 2018.
In a line Ms. Grande says “ I know that it breaks your heart when I cry again, over him”, which perhaps alludes to her breaking Pete Davidson’s heart (ex fiance).
The Album ends with the bops that we have all heard, being that “7 Rings” and “Thank U, Next” both went number One on Billboard.
Over all, Ariana Grande has really came into her own and I’d give this album 8/10.
