How did you get involved with Wildcat 91.9?

I helped cover the 2018 Kansas elections and decided that helping cover the news and talk about whats happening in the world sounded like a fun time.  And so here I am!

What exactly does your job entail?

I am in charge of the news and the news committee. What I do is collect and help cover local, state, weather, and sports stories and sometimes national and world news stories going on and deliver broadcasts at 7:50, 9, 12, 3, 6 every weekday with hourly weather updates. I also try and make a news roundtable of local experts to talk about important issues in the Manhattan community.

Favorite part of your position? Or the station?

My favorite part without a doubt is Trey Chats, a new segment on the Morning show which puts me into the studio with the Morning Show Hosts to talk and sometimes joke or rant about some news story from somewhere in the world.

What is your biggest goal for the semester?

Transitioning into this position has really been my goal this semester, getting more experienced with different radio and audio equipment and perfecting my news delivery. What I’d like to do is have a more on the ground news committee that can get stories going on in Manhattan or even in State more regularly.

Give us three artists or albums you’ve been vibing with lately:

Logic- Especially his new single Confessions of a Dangerous Mind , I’m just waiting for his next album Judah and the Lion- Their new song, Over my head , is something I cannot stop listening to Led Zeppelin- I was raised to love classic rock unconditionally, right now, maybe because of the Avengers and Thor: Ragnarok , the Immigrant Song has been playing in my head.

What is one fun fact about you?

My go to fun fact is that I am medically banned from somersaults because of an injury I got during football in High School.
