At 11:12 a.m. the K-State Police twitter account tweeted: “Report of shots fired at the K-State Foundation Bldg @ Kimball and Dennison. Officers on the scene. Stay clear of the area. Updates will follow.”
Shortly after, the Kansas State University police deemed the scene safe.
Temporary lockdowns happened at the K-State recreational center and at the K-State foundation building. Approximately 30 minutes later, the lockdowns were lifted.
The foundation building is where the University’s fundraising campaigns are held.
The victim in the incident is confirmed not to be a student, and went to the Riley County Police Department to report the issue.
As of now, no arrests have been made. The K-State police have asked any witnesses to contact them at 785-532-6412.
