In the latest SGA Weekly Update, host Cole Deutschendorf sat down with Andrew Le and Max Black to delve into their roles within the Student Government Association at Kansas State University.
Andrew Le, chair of the Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Committee, explained his dual responsibilities: managing diversity programming funds for cultural events and working with multicultural student organizations to enhance their engagement with SGA. Max Black, a student senator for the College of Arts and Sciences, highlighted his role in advocating for student needs through weekly senate meetings and supporting student health initiatives.
Priorities and Initiatives
Andrew emphasized his top priorities as bridging the gap between SGA and multicultural student organizations and making SGA resources more accessible. He is also working on a "Donations for Citations" initiative to address food security by allowing students to donate items in exchange for having parking citations waived. Max focused on improving student health services and fostering community within the diverse majors of arts and sciences.

Both leaders shared their motivations for running for their positions.
