The Cats snap a 5 game losing streak in a nail biting 59-56 win versus the No.17 Sooners of Oklahoma. Marcus Foster, with yet another game winning three, most likely gave Sooner fans a little Déjà vu of K-State’s recent win in Norman. Foster led the Cats in scoring at 14 points followed by Nino Williams with 13 points and 8 Rebounds. The Cats now stand at an even 13-13 record.
Halftime Thoughts: The first half was a free throw battle. OU kept the lead throughout almost the whole half; the Cats were able to get to a 1-point deficit at the half. Wesley Iwundu hit a nice 3-pointer at the end of the half to get the crowd riled up and give the Cats some momentum to end the half.
Player of the Game: Foster’s 14 points and game-winning three led the Wildcats to defeating the Sooners. It is very impressive for him to bounce back after suspension to play a great game like this.
Game-Defining Event: Well, folks, I’ll say it again, the game-defining event was Foster’s game winning 3-pointer with 3.3 seconds to play in regulation. The crowd went absolutely berserk. If not for this shot, the game could have gone into overtime.
Up Next: The Cats travel to Forth Worth to face the TCU Horned Frogs on February 18th at 7:00 PM. The Horned Frogs have a 15-10 overall record and a 2-10 record in the Big 12. The Cats were able to win the last match up in Manhattan, but can they do it again on the 18th in Forth Worth?
