KSDB hosted another Roundtable on May 3rd , the topic was a tough one but something that is important to discuss: suicide. The suicide rate is rising in the United States and in the past year at K-State there were three students who committed suicide. Suicide is an issue that all of us are affected by and mental health experts agree that dialogue and seeking help is the best way to prevent suicide. Host Lucas Peterson was joined by Karen Smothers with Pawnee Mental Health Services and Laurie Wesely with K-State Counseling Services. Topics discussed are suicide myths, why people commit suicide, how to stop people from committing suicide, and resources available if you are feeling suicidal.
