Do yourself a favor get yourself some good headphones and listen to “Call Me Up” by Homeshake off his new album, Fresh Air. It’s a soothing song that puts you in a relaxed mode it grown to be one of my favorite songs so far for 2017. Another standout track on this album, “Every Single Thing,” is so reminiscent of trip hop electronic artist, Dabrye. Followed up by that song is “Wrapping Up” is a slow synth drive with electronic beats and clicks. Many more of the songs off this album have similarities to artists such as Dabrye, Little Dragon, Toro Y Moi, Unknown Mortal Orchestra

Homeshake brings elements of R&B mixed with indie pop to this album. Pitchfork summed up Homeshake’s sound perfectly as yacht rock and R&B tropes for a thrift store synth-pop sound. In my honest opinion this album should’ve been released in the summer it just gives off that vibe of sunny California. I can see myself this summer lying in my backyard just chilling and relaxing to this record.
