Boblo Boat by Royce da 5’9 ft J.Cole – Song Review

Throughout this generation, millennials constantly debate on which rappers have the best flow, and J.Cole and Royce da 5’9 is usually on every ones list. So for them to collide for a single, is bound to be good. With their new release called Boblo Boat, this is rap at its best.

Let’s start off with the foundation of the song, the instrumental. We all know that the instrumental to a hip hop single can make or break the song. This beat has a classic late 80s and 90s rhythm and beat. If you just listen to just the instrumental, you will think that you’re listening to Nas album, or one of the rap kings from the Bronx.

In the first part of the song, it’s an announcer, I’m assuming in advertising of some sort, that describes the feeling of being on the “Boblo boat”. Then transitions to Royce’s verse. He talks about his experiences on the boblo boat. Then it transitions to J.Cole with his timeless singing. With two exceptional song writers on a song, you can literally envision every word they’re saying, as if you were on the Boblo Boat with them.

J.Cole, and Royce da 5’9 will forever be rap legends. So me being team COLE World, I believe this is definitely a song you can roll your windows down to and cruise with this song thudding through your speakers.
