I grew up in a radio family and decided to sign up for the KSDB class because of that. Already being familiar with the industry made me curious about the class, and it’s what pushed me into actually making a career out of it!

Favorite part about the station/favorite memory?
So many memories! Trips to Dallas and Las Vegas for conferences, Kedziepalooza, spending more time in the studio than any of my classes with everyone on the staff, discovering new music all the time, our Easter egg hunt in 2011, concerts, etc. I also met some of the greatest people and friends ever working for the station.

What are you doing now?
Promotions Director/Afternoon Drive at KRXP in Colorado Springs, CO

What have you learned from working with KSDB?
I learned that in radio, you’re always on duty because the station is always running and people are always interacting. I learned to always be accessible and willing to work. I also learned that literally every single day is different so to be ready for whatever comes at you that day!

How does that help you with your current job?
It has taught me to stay alert and accessible which ALWAYS reflects well on you and the station. And with the second thing I learned, it has taught me a lot about problem-solving and how think on my feet! It’s a creative industry so you have to creative everyday about how you approach new things!

What advice would you give to the current staff/DJs?
Enjoy your time at KSDB! I LOVED my time there and it goes fast! Also, keep up with new trends in the radio industry and media as a whole. Things change fast, and it’s always best to be on top of new listening habits! Radio has continued to stay relevant because of its ability to adapt to changing trends in media, so it’s always helpful to stay current!
